چکیده

In this paper, we present a 2D axisymmetric plasma fluid model for microwave plasmas operating in argon. The effect of the pressure on the plasma parameters is studied over a wide range of pressures going from 10 mbar to atmospheric pressure. The model shows that the discharge contracts with the increase of gas pressure. Additionally, a first reduction of the CO2 chemistry set of [11,12] from 126 species to 35 species is also presented in this paper. It is shown that this reduction has very little effect on the quantities of interest at the conditions under study.

Numerical investigation of free surface flood wave and solitary wave using incompressible SPH method

Simulation of free surface flow and sudden wave profile are recognized as the most challenging problem in computational hydraulics. Several Eulerian/Lagrangian approaches and models can be implemented for simulating such phenomena in which the smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH) is categorized as a proper candidate. The incompressible SPH (ISPH) method hires a precise incompressible hy...

Argon surface wave discharges at medium pressure. Experiments and discussion on the energy balance

2014 Argon surface wave discharges, created at 210 MHz in capillary tubes have been studied at medium pressure, from 10 Torr to 200 Torr. Such discharges have been experimentally characterized ; the electron density profile along the plasma column, the effective electron neutral collision frequency v and the mean power needed to maintain an electron-ion pair in the discharge 0 have been determi...

ISPH Numerical Modeling of Nonlinear Wave Run-up on Steep Slopes

Non-breaking tsunami waves run-up on steep slopes can cause severe damages to coastal structures. The estimation of the wave run-up rate caused by tsunami waves are important to understand the performance and safety issues of the breakwater in practice. In this paper, an Incompressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics method (ISPH) method was utilized for the 2DV numerical modeling of nonli...

Numerical Modeling of the Stepped Planing Hull in Calm Water

This article describes a 3D CFD (computational fluid dynamics) simulation implementation of the stepped planning hull in calm water. The turbulent free surface flow around the stepped planing hull is computed with a RANSE method, using the solver ANSYS-CFX. The turbulence model used is standard k–ε. In order to simulate the disturbed free surface, VOF model is implemented. The CFD model has bee...

Numerical and experimental investigation of common rail fuel injection system and evaluating influence of fuel pressure on injection characteristics and pressure fluctuations

The combustion processes, engine performance, fuel consumption, exhaust-gas composition, and combustion noise in the diesel engine are closely linked to appropriate mixture of air-fuel in combustion chamber. The fuel-injection parameters such as injection start point, discharge rate curve, injection time and injection pressure are defined by the quality of the mixture formation. The numerical m...
